Rich Snippets are the text of few lines that we can observe under every search results. These are designed for the users to provide basic information about the site and help users to choose the right site related to their search.
With these we can get readers attention and also can reduce the bounce rate, because users will know about our site before they click.

There are several types of rich snippets, some of those are given below.

1.Microdata for Event Rich Snippets:

2.Microdata for Movie Rich Snippets:

3.Microdata for Music Rich Snippets:

4.Microdata for People Rich Snippets:

5.Microdata for Recipe Rich Snippets:

6.Microdata for Review Rich Snippets:

7.Microdata for Product Rich Snippets with multiple offers:

When we get started we have to follow three steps as below mentioned to create rich snippets.

Three steps to rich snippets:

1.Pick a markup format:

We have three different types of markup formats. They are:

  • Microdata
  • Microformats
  • RDFa
Most of the companies use microdata format because Google suggests this format. For these formats we don't need any prior knowledge, just basic knowledge of HTML is enough.

    2.Mark up your content
    :

Mark up the content by using HTML tags or Data highlighter. If we want to change our snippets frequently Google suggests HTML markup.

The content types that Google prefers as rich snippets are
  • Review
  • People
  • Products
  • Recipes
  • Events
  • Business and organizations
  • Music.

    3.Test your markup:

After marking up the data we have to test that data by using structured data-testing tool. If Google finds the mark up data in a site it can read and display the rich snippets in the SERPs.
