Google Now Launcher Now Available

After a long wait now Google has finally launched the App “Google Now Launcher”. This app will be Available on Play Store from Wednesday on 26th February 2014. In the beginning the Application was revealed for “Nexus 5” last year. There was a promise that the Launcher will be available for the other devices also.
Really it was just an App that was built in Android platform. This App connects the Google Search to the operating system. Integrating the package will add the Google Now Launcher. It supports most of the features like, the system bars will be turned into transparent and also creates the Google now interface in the Device.
The Launcher has both the advantages and disadvantages because of the larger icons which appear on the Home screen. Even users may like or dislike this feature because home screen can be replaced with Google now Launcher and will no longer be used.
It gives an explanation that if a user has application on two screens of home then those two can be used along with Google Now Launcher. But if there are any extra screens on the home then they will be left remain.
Somehow there are some benefits available in this Launcher. For example a swipe on right side will bring the Google Now Launcher home screen and also displays the Weather, News, and whatever the things you have added.
And one cool thing is that you can just use the mobile by not even by touching but just saying “OK GOOGLE”. This leads to the voice search which will start.

Do you consider yourself a PPC expert? Then you might have an experience in creating adwords account and setting up PPC campaign. You can make an use of advanced PPC tactics to raise your PPC campaign to next level.

Apply all ON page SEO practices to drive PPC traffic for a landing page

Quality score plays an important role in ad campaign, position and budget. It is more useful while determining the cost of campaign based on keyword clicks. Hence, most of the advertisers focus more on improving the quality score of the ad group level through landing page content to reach targets.

PPC experts have to implement ON page factors on target landing page for a successful PPC campaign. Optimize your target landing page with the same keywords that are used in the ad and the ad group level for improving your quality score.

Concentrate on High value Keywords

Most of the advertisers use multiple keywords for an ad group while setting up a campaign. If you have a keyword which contribute high level priority, then place that high value keyword to the entire ad group to improve your ad's performance.

Furthermore, adding high value keyword to an ad group makes you to monitor its performance from the ad group level which in turn helps you to achieve better results for a campaign.

Standardize AdWords Account Names

This type of technique might sound strange, but building and sticking to a predetermined account structure and naming convention will make your campaign to run smoothly from beginning to end.

Name your campaign and ad group titles with generic words to work within adwords easily. This kind of titles helps you to organize short and long term reports easily for better insight. Name your campaigns and ad group levels in the same manner in order to avoid confusion while monitoring the campaign performance.

Align Retargeting Frequency to Buying Cycle

All PPC professionals have to know and utilize some strategies while retargeting the campaign. Initial strategy is to serve ads for visitors properly to convert them into potential buyers which has been failed in the first attempt. It is important to think more logically and strategically about timing of your ads. Match them in proper way to achieve target results. In addition, think about buying seasons along with overall buying cycle when planning retargeting strategy.

For example, a raincoat site can run a retargeting feature in rainy season and it doesn't make a lot of sense to run same ad in April because no wears raincoat in summer season.

Use Separate Retargeting Cookies for Specific Pages

The ultimate goal of retargeting strategy is to convert former visitors to buyers with the help of relevant ads. To implement this strategy, place unique retargeting cookies for each product or service on your website. In this way, you can easily identify the target element of your website and serve those relevant ads to reach target results.

The aforementioned tactics can help advertisers to fine-tune their efforts to build more quality campaigns for improving PPC performance. Furthermore, you can increase the campaign performance easily with the help of few factors such as planning, strategy and timely execution.

Mobile Experience Matters for SEO

In olden days Mobile SEO has taken a last seat to desktop SEO, but that commenced to vary this summer when Google Matt cutts spoke about the significance of mobile SEO at SMX Advanced. After that Google accepted on its Official Webmaster Central blog that it would effect on developing websites in organic search that offer positive experiences for mobile guests. Normally, Google remains moderately quiet about upcoming algorithm changes, but they have been vocal on mobile SEO. Here are some errors and useful instructions on how to prepare your website for mobile SEO. Those are:
  • Redirects
  • Videos
  • Quality
  • Googlebot- Mobile
  • Interstitials & Overlays
  • Page Load Speed

1. Redirects:

Under Google new instructions, site could be penalized if a full web page redirects mobile users to an unrelated page on the mobile-optimized website. In the example below, mobile users who navigate to www.example.com/fishes or www.example.com/dogs are redirected to the homepage of the mobile site, instead of information about those particular topics. This makes it harder for mobile users to access the content they want, which can be frustrating and finally lead to site abandonment. Since, Google is in the business of rewarding positive user experience, it scowls upon improper redirects.

2. Video:

Another issue is interactive graphics, which often are not available to all mobile users. For example, Flash will not work on iPhones or Android versions 4.1 and above. And also create these elements using native HTML5 elements or remove them from mobile pages.

3. Quality:

Check your mobile site frequently to confirm your mobile-friendly pages work and do not result in errors or blank pages. If your website's content is not accessible in a Smartphone friendly layout, then it is better to serve the desktop version of the page than blank page.

4. Googlebot-Mobile:

Improperly managing the Googlebot-Mobile crawler can also affect on search engine ranking. Conforming to the Official Google Webmaster Central Blog many of the sites make the mistake of creating infinite redirect loops. These mistakes will be done by redirecting Googlebot-Mobile for smart phones from web pages to pages advanced for feature phones, which then redirect back to the complete pages.

5. Interstitials & Overlays:

Promoting your Smartphone app on your mobile site isn’t a bad idea, but be careful how you go about it. Methods such as interstitials, an intermediate page that stops the way between two related pages or overlays can cause indexing issues for Smartphone-optimized content and may be too disruptive for visitors. If you must promote your app to users, Google advises using an easy banner in line with the page’s content.

6. Page Load Speed:

Page speed is also very essential for mobile websites as desktop sites. Pages should load on Smartphones in less than one second. Any longer than that, and users begin to disengage. Google Analytics reported last year that the average web page takes more than 10 seconds to load on mobile devices.
By using below steps we can improve page speed. Those are:
  • Content
  • Images
  • Social sharing tools

Final Thoughts:

A recent study exposed that only 6% of the top 500 companies have websites that fulfill with Google’s mobile requirements. When they don’t provide mobile versions of many indexed pages hence 70% of these websites could see a drop in search rankings. These steps are now useful to make your website available to users using smartphones and other mobile devices. This will increase customer allegiance, and help you outrank your competitors in search.

6 Ways to Earn Higher Rankings Without Investing in Content Creation and Marketing

Content marketing helps to rank higher in search results without using SEO tools and investing much. Here are 6 ways which help us to improve rankings in search results without investing a dime in creation and marketing of content.

First and the foremost ways are to write better snippets which have to be served by our pages. Let us consider an example, when we do a search then we can find number of results in search results page. While each result will have a title, then URL of the page beneath that we will be finding description. In these descriptions we can find author profiles, videos and if we have some rich snippet mark-up then it will be shown and leads to the page.  It means this equals to adding rel=”author”.  Making rich snippet means just not making it compelling but instead it should display what a page contains. Because it hurts a webmaster in two cases if user just move away from your site, first is if search engines view at your site as pogo -sticking behavior and they move away. In second case there is no way to convert those users into buyers or either potential sharers of the content.
Second thing is to improve easy and friendly crawling also pages-of-value-ratio in the site. Improvising low-quality pages, making clean navigation system, creating high chances to index the site, navigation should be easy driving in-to deeper pages with just fewer clicks and making all the pages accessible which Google does not want to index. All these above tips improve sites traffic and improve crawling of the website.
While the third way is to improve page speed as it is taken into consideration even though this plays a little role in Google algorithm for ranking. This instead will satisfy users, reduce bounce-rate as well as reduces pogo-sticking activity. All these help in converting users in to buyers, sharers and appreciators of the brand.
Fourth way is to influence users to attract links by either sharing links, traffic to the pages, endorsements and others.
Fifth way is to find the pages on the site that are liked by users but they does not return enough organic traffic, but has a low bounce rate, a good number of visits, a high browse rate, meaning people are clicking and visiting other pages after them.
All the above tips help in creating content as well as marketing it without investing but ranking higher in search engines.

If you employ the rich snippets on your sites, be aware that Google is now penalizing sites for using duplicate structured data markup.

The warning message will appear in users Google webmaster tool account if they have manual action is required:

Just include techniques such as marking up content that is not indexed or visible to users, unrelated or deceptive content or other manipulative actions that violate Google's Rich Snippet Quality guidelines.
Google's Matt Cutts recently posted in the social media about changes in google penalties related to rich snippets.

Rich snippets will be revamped and also are dialed back on those sites which are capable of displaying rich snippets.

The new penalizing may affect websites that are misusing rich snippets such as including authorship on homepages and reviews on those pages that has no reviews. But there was evidence that Google has tried to educate webmasters how to add debugging support for structured data.

If you're unsure that you’re using rich snippets correctly, the foremost affair you need should check your Webmaster Tools account and if there are any topics that are shown up. To assist the site proprietors to carry out structured data correctly google is including videos in the help region.

Submit Scraper Sites That Outrank You on Google

Scraper sites are those sites that copy other website data and post it in their own website or blog as their own, that have ban by webmaster from many years.

Even though the original should rank well in search engine since they are the original source, but often times the scraper sites ranking well than source content, usually because those sites use spam methods to rank their content.

Even worse case is that original source content not rank well in search engine while scraper website ranks well.

Google now released new Scraper Report form where site owner can submit scrapers sites by providing google with source url where the content was taken and the url of the other site the  content is republished and the keywords it ranking.

Google is also asking site owners to confirming that the website is following the webmaster guidelines before submitting, although the other webmasters are well aware of Google webmaster guidelines and how to find penalties in their accounts.

Sometimes scraper sites are not ranking well for top keywords, but there enough that ranking in top 10 or so, and can be more common on Google's search results when you go beyond page 2. The only way to remove the scraper site from search results by filling to DMCA report.

Is there other way instead of filling to DMCA to out the scraper sites out of search results? Are they using it to improve the algorithms to try and determine where the original content is versus copied content? But google not saying anything, we can suspect the google updating the algorithm by seeing why scrapers are ranking well.

Webspam team leader of Google Matt Cutts asked for examples the small website that are not ranking well in search engine being a high quality site, although that those submissions would not affect the ranking in search engine.

It's great that google looking the scrapers website because it has been pretty annoying for site owners are not ranking well in search engine from many years.

This is not first google has asked for help from scrapers, and in 2011 google has tried the scrapers algorithmically.

Hopefully we have to wait for a fresh update on how scrapers are controlled with a future algorithm update by Google.
