6 Changes Google Still Haven’t Done in SEO

Google has interpreted rel=”canonical”, which particularly specifies the appearance of anchor text within a link. Apart from this there are several other changes, which everyone thought Google would make a change to them but still google has not taken any steps to perform them.

There are six major changes that most of the webmaster thought Google would do, but Google has not made any move on them. Let us consider the following six changes:
1.       On-topic links matter more than Off-topic links
2.       Anchor text influence would eventually plummet
3.       302 and other redirections will be treated similar to 301
4.       Rel= Canonical will become more as a hint and less a directive.
5.       Shares from trusted sites will have more direct as well as observable impact on rankings.
6.       Google would take more cleanup action on hyper-spammy keyword niches in PPC.

On-topic links matter more than Off-topic links

Most of the SEO professionals think that if links is considered more important than priority will be given to on-topic links rather than off-topic links. Let us consider two sites A and B, which deal with gardening resources. A will be from botany site while B from mobile gaming. From the two sites stronger link will be provided from the botany site. After many people working on this it can be said that Google will be viewing links with respect to subject or context perspective.

Anchor text influence would eventually plummet

Presently anchor text influence on the users is decreasing gradually. Instead of anchor text, other signals have gained the importance, but still anchor text inside a link has larger impact and better when compared to generic anchor text. Though there is much advancement in Hummingbird regarding how Google will do lots of text recognition but still in these tough phrases anchor text plays a strong role.

302 and other redirections will be treated similar to 301

302 originally created for temporary redirects but it has been misused for moving sites, types of server defaults to all kinds of pages that have to be moved. 302 is just a directive and will just give a hint but it is still highly important to get 301 redirects. When you are dealing with a 301 it is must to be cautious about re-direction.

Rel= Canonical will become more as a hint and less a directive

Rel=Canonical can be called as hint rather than a directive because it has been not taken has good news by SEO’s. Instead they are using this on every page and pointing it back to the homepage but this will direct google only to index homepage. So we can assume this as an area of caution because as Google have not taken any move on it and just taking it as directive.

Shares from trusted sites will have more direct as well as observable impact on rankings

Social media plays key role and has high impact on rankings of a site which is possible only through sharing good content on social media sites. These days most of the users are just relying on social media to get information regarding any brand or product. Even the site owners are making their presence in social media to gain the popularity and this will be reflected in their link graph.

Google would take more cleanup action on hyper-spammy keyword niches in PPC

When Google started cleaning web spam from years 2003 to 2012 most of the SEO professionals thought that they might also clean PPC which does not mean pay-per-click instead porn, pills and casino. But when we look at some of the search results around these categories then we can notice that it is just a kind of early warning for SERP in the SEO World.
